"GREEK STREET” DEPICTS LONDON’S NIGHT LIFE.
“ Greek Street,” the all-British photoplay which headed the new programme presented at the St James’ Theatre on Saturday, breathes the romance of the West End of London, and is especially notable because it brings into the forefront a number of new film artists who seem destined to achieve very great popularity. With Soho as its background, the story revolves around the night life of the great metropolis All lovers of the old-world charm of London will find in “ Greek Street ” the elements that novelists have delighted in for centuries. The principal roles are filled by Sari Maritza, a. young actress of great beauty and wonderful personality, William Freshman, who gives an outstanding portrayal of the romantic young lover, and Bert Coote, who is a positive delight as the elderly English knight who is not quite so stupid as he appears to be. Singing' and dancing, and pleasing touches of real English humour all contrive to make “ Greek Street ” a production that is worthy of a warm welcome by picture-goers. The supporting programme is a wellvaried one.
