City Council Club. v. D.1.C., at Sydenham Park No. 9 W. Smythe, E. Chappel, A\ r . Sylvester. AY. Grey, O. Marshall, F. Quinn, J. Lee, AV. Hollands, J. Anderson, J. Deans, J. Turnbull, L. Sanders, R. Compton. WEST INDIES V. N.S.W. ~ (United Press Assn.--By Electrlo Telegraph.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, November 24. The match between New South AYales and the AVest Indies was resumed half an hour late to-day, owing to heavy rain during th 6 night and early part of the morning. The wicket was soft. Headley and Grant resumed their innings and carried the score to 159 when the first-named was smartly caught by Bradman at second slip, off Chilvers. making the score 159 for the loss of four wickets. The pair had put on 95. Bartlett joined Grant, but the latter went before a run was added. Constantine was applauded as he appeared, and while the tail did their best to keep their wicket up, he delighted the onlookers with crisp hitting, rattling up 59 in a little over twenty minutes. The fielding was keen. AVhen the West Indies team was all out, the tea adjournment was taken. M’Cabe’s thumb was injured in sloping a hot one from Headley, and Fingleton acted as a substitute for the remainder of the AVest Indies innings. Kippax was suffering from influenza and Oldfield acted as captain. Jackson, in the opening partnership with Bill, set a merry pace in New South Wales’ second innings. The latter, however, had a couple of narrow escapes and was finally out leg before. Bradman took many risks and went cheaply. Allsop and Oldfield were victims to the versatile Constantine. Fairfax and Hunt, after several appeals against bad light, played out time, stumps being drawn at 5.53 p.m., with New South AYales requiring 89 runs? to win. Scores:— WEST INDIES.
