BOXING.
CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB. A meeting of the executive committee of the Christchurch Sports Club was held last evening. There were present: Mr J. D. Hutchison (chairman), Messrs R. H. Livingstone, A. M’DonaldSmith. C. 11. Taylor, jun., G. Gardner, N. M’Gillivray and H. R. Sampson. Mr G. Cox was appointed competitors’ steward to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr Fraser. The Timaru Association wrote stating that that body was quite agreeable to a return match against North Canterbury on December 10. and forwarding the names of their provisional team. It was decided to hold this in abeyance until the Otago v. Canterbury interprovincial tournament for the AVaironga Shield, to be staged in the Civic Theatre next Tuesday, had been held. Coming Tournament. The Otago Association forwarded the following names of the team to compete against Canterbury for the AVaironga Shield next Tuesday: Fly-weight, M. Anderson; bantam, J. Richmond; feathers (2), AY. G, Leckie and P. AYebber; light., T. AValker; welter, A. S. Lowe; middle, W. AVatt; heavy, W. Watson: trainer, Air J. Aloir; manager. Air S. Brown. The team will leave Dunedin on Alonday next, and return by the night express the following night. The Match Committee reported that the Canterbury team would be finalised to-morrow. The whole of those who had been provisionally selected had been in active training for some time and were now very fit, consequently they should be able to render a good account of themselves. The chairman intimated that tlie medals won at /the recent Canterbui*y championships would be presented at the interprovincial tournament.
