AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, November 19. There was fair business on the Exchange yesterday afternoon, but this morning proceedings opened quietly, with only a single sale at the first call. This was of Mount Lyells, and, although at 21s 3d, it shows an advance of Is 2d over the last local transaction. It is well below the assessment of the scrip in Christchurch, where it sold freely on Monday and yesterday at between 23s and 23s 2d. At this morning’s call bidding in the banking section was irregular. Australasias were easier, with sellers at £ll, and Commercials were unaltered with buyers at £l7 7s. New South Wales and Unions were both firmer, with offers for the former at £32 10s and for the latter at £9 14s 6d. Breweries were in demand, and, in anticipation of a dividend announcement at the usual rate, buyers offered 45s 6d, with holders asking a shilling more. For Australian Glass 27s was offered, and for Colonial Sugars £34 3 os, both advances on yesterday’s quotations. Wilson’s Cements v-ere firm with buyers at 40s, and for Milne and Choyce debenture stock a buyer rose to 22s 2d. OTHER EXCHANGES. Per Press Association. DUNEDTN, November 19. Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd., have received cabled advice from London stating that at the wool sale opening 01: November 25, it is expected, as compared with September sales, that Merino will be at par, 4 4-46 5 per cent lower, and others 10 per cent lower. There will probably be a good demand for scoured Merino. Under letter dated October 17, CeorgcWills and Sons, Ltd., London, give the following prices ruling at the close ot" the September series of sales for good a -erage wools:—Merinos, greasy, average to good 10?.d to 12d, inferior 7d to lOd; scoured, average to good 20d to 2jd, inferior 17d to I9d.
