CARNIVAL DATES ARE ALLOCATED.
SWIMMING CENTRE AND SEASON’S PROSPECTS
The monthly meeting of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held last night; present—j\lr S. Hollander (in the chair) Miss D. Brown, Messrs D. 11. bymes, T. B. J. Donnelly, F. LeCren, A. <l. Berry, A. L. Taylor, R. J. Fyfe, T. H. Harker, S. C. Anderson, C. W. Smith and V. G. Spiller (secretary). Dates for carnivals were allocated as under:—-Elmwood. February 21; Linwood, February 7; United. January 14: 1< endalton, February 28; East Christchurch. February 14; Centre, December 10 and 17 and January 28. The following championship events were allocated among the clubs:Centre—looyds junior boys, 220yds junior boys, 3 00yds junior girls, 100yds intermediate boys, 100yds breaststroke boys, boys’ dive, 100yds intermediate girls, intermediate girls’ dive, 100yds senior men, men’s dive, 100yds ladies, and ladies’ dive. Linwood—soyds men’s, 75yds junior breaststroke boys, 4-lOyds intermediate boys. United—A v. B polo match, Hollander Cup, luOyds men’s backstroke and 220yds. Last Christchurch—44oyds men’s. | Bryce Cup, 50yds junior boys, 50yds intermediate girls, 50yds junior girls. Fenda 1 ton mediate boys. 50yds junior girls breaststroke. Elmwood Cluto-*-HArri3 Cup. Delegates ag-rfced to acespt on* more championship event, allocated by the executive, on behalf of their clubs, if it were necessary.
The St Albans Club also applied for championship events, hut it was decided to advise them that their baths were not considered suitable.
