MR FORBES ASKS MANY QUESTIONS.

IS CONCERNED ABOUT FINANCIAL CONDITIONS.

(Special to the “ Star.”) WELLINGTON. November Vo. When Mr Forbes, speaking in London, established radio telephonic connection with New Zealand last night, he showed that, at a distance of 12,000 miles, he was concerned about the financial conditions of the Dominion. He asked for Mr Park, secretary to the Treasury, and had a business talk, giving the important news that, prior to his departure from London, he is having a discussion with Mr Montagu Norman, Governor of the Bank of England, regarding New Zealand financial questions. WILL INVESTIGATE WOOL COMPLAINTS. (Received November 19, 1.50 pjn.) LONDON, November IS. When Mr Forbes visits Bradford he will discuss with Sir Frederick Aykroyd and other leading wool users the problem of Romney wools, which are alleged to be losing their spinning property. Bradford experts say that Romney fleeces have fallen off in quality recently owing to pastoralists not being particular enough in the selection of their rams. Spinners maintain that Romneys are not being bred true to type, and contain thick, small hairs, which constitute a hindrance. MR FORBES INTERVIEWS MANY BUSINESS MEN. (Received November 19, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, November IS. Mr G. W. Forbes spent the afternoon in a series of interviews with businessmen engaged in the New Zealand trade, including Mr L. Speakman, of Dalgety’s, Sir Charles Holdsworth, and Dr Myers. All the callers congratulated Mr Forbes on the manner in which he had represented New Zealand at the Imperial Conference.
