CHRIST’S COLLEGE SPORTS ARE HELD.
FIRST DAY’S EVENTS RUN OFF ON A GOOD TRACK. The Christ’s College annual sports meeting was begun this afternoon when the opening events were held before an interested gathering of parents and friends. The track, in spite of a shower before the start of the races, was in fairly good order, and some fine running was witnessed. The second day’s races will start at 11 a.m. to-morrow. Following were the results:— 220yds Open (record, 24 l-ssec, D. M. Douglas, 1927) H. G. Norris 1, T. A. Gresson 2, A. J. Aitken 3. Gresson led until ten yards from the tape, when Norris put in a strong burst to win by a foot. Time—24 3-osec.
