WEDDING. ! KINROSS WHITE—ELWORTHY. I St Mary’s Church made a beautiful setting for a pictureso.ue wedding which took place this afternoon in Timaru, when Rona, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Herbert Elworthy, of “Craigmore,” was married to Alan Patrick, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Kinross White, of “Omaruni,” Hawke’s Bay. Tall sprays of lime green foliage and masses of daffodils were arranged in the church, and the altar was decorated with arum lilies. The Rev H. W. Monaghan conducted the wedding ceremony, assisted by the Rev J. Hay. Mr Ewan Campbell, of Wellington, was best man, with Messrs J. El worth v (Government House). 11. Elworthy, P. Borthwick (Christchurch), R. Betbal (Waikari), and B. Blundell (Wellington). The ushers’ duties were carried out by Messrs P. Boyle, F. O’Rorke, and B. Thomas. j The bride, who entered the church !on the arm of her father, wore a I charming medieval gown of cream ring I velvet, made with a bodice cut to the j figure and a long skirt falling in soft flutes to the ground in front. She wore a short train at the back. The train, of ivory faconne. was embossed with cheniJJc and lined with gold Ti.--sue. and was shaped from the waist and fell in flares and folds. An attractive cap of pearls made in the Juliette style fitted her closely, and the ivory net embroidered veil was attached at the back. She carried a sheaf of freisias and wore brocade shoes embroidered with pearls. The Misses Cecil, Elizabeth and Josephine Elworthy (sisters of the bride!, Miss Nancy Bend (Southland), Miss Hilda Montgomery (Little River), and Miss Marjory Gibson, wore beautiful frocks of golden yellow panne velvet made on the same simple lines as the bride’s. They were finished with attractive gold lace Medici collars. They wore Juliette caps of gold pearls, and carried bouquets of primroses and daffodils. After the ceremony a deception was held at 44 Craigmore,” where the rooms were arranged with japoniea and masses of spring bulbs, while primroses, violets and white heather decorated the marquee. Mr and Mrs Elworthy received their guests. Mrs Elworthy wore a becoming frock 01 black lace made with insertions of black georgette, under a black panne velvet coat trimmed with seal fur. Her hat of fine lace straw was finished with black velvet, and she carried a black muff. Mrs Kinross White wore a model frock of Lido blue lace, with a long coat of the same material. Her hat of the same shade of blue was trimmed with shaded yellow flowers. She carried a bouquet of freesias. Mrs Elworthy (grandmother of the bride) •wore jet black satin, under a black lace anil georgette coat finished with jet beads. Her black Bangkok hat was trimmed with ospreys. Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs A P. White left by car. Mrs White wore a very smart two-piece suit 01 bullrush brown wool tweed. Daffodil yellow cuffs' collar and belt finished the frock. The three-quarter length coat was faced with yellow and brown crepe de chine. Her hat was of the same attractive shade of yellow.
