DECISION RESERVED IN ASSESSMENT APPEAL.
In the ca?e heard at Timaru in July, in which the District Public Trustee (Mr L. E. Finch), as executor of the estate of the late William Evans, appealed against the assessment of the Valuation Department (Mr D. Stowel!) for death duties on a property of .105
acres known as Lisava, and situate near Fairlie, the Magistrate again reserved his decision in order to permit the calling of evidence as to the marketable valve of the property'. Front the evidence given at the hearing he would have had to give judgment only from the point of view of the farm’s productivity. + The Government valuation was.:—Unimproved value £13,685, improvements £l7lO, total value £ls.«jSo.
