There were no transactions on •Change at either the morning or noon call. Sheepskins. Messrs A. H. Turnbull and Co. have received cabled advice from their principals, Messrs W. Weddel and Co., Btd., London, stating that the sheepskin market is very dull. Prices are showing a decline of approximately 15 per cent on ,tlie July sales. American buyers are showing no interest, and are inclined to, cancel orders. GOOD WHEAT CROP EXPECTED IN EUROPE. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received July 28, 11.30 a.m.) ROME, July 27. The Institute of Agriculture estimates the production of the present season’s wheat in ten European countries, excluding Russia, at 653,000,000 bushels. AUCKLAND BUSINESS UNUSUALLY QUIET. (Special to tha "Star.”) AUCKBAND, July 28. Despite the holiday on Saturday there , were no sales to record after the first call this morning, at which bidding was extremely dull. The banking section is still weak, though New South Wales firmed up a little with buyers at £36. Australasias were offered a traction cheaper at £l2, but the best bid was 7s 6d less. Goldsbrough Morts were 6d better, with buyers at £1 7s 3d. Westport Coals were again asked for at £1 12s, but, as this line sold freely in Christchurch on Saturday at fl 13s to £i 13s 6d, it is not surprising that no business followed. Wilson’s Cements were offered cheaper at £2 10s. Bidding was a little better at the noon call, but buyers refused to go in advance of their offers even for popular lines, and again brokers dispersed with, no business to report. Such a

happening at two successive calls is very unusual. In Government stocks a parcel of SJ, 1936, was offered at £99 7s 6d. A buyer came forward for Sanford’s ordinaries, offering 8s 6d. For Auckland Harbour Board 6 per cent, maturing in 1941, £lO2 was offered. ;
