ST ALBANS HOUSE IS DAMAGED BY FIRE.

Considerable damage was done by a nre which broke out in a five-roomed house at 73, Mersey Street, St Albans, at eight o’clock this morning The h ?'i% e -j* by Mr A. J. Whitehead, of 78, M Faddens Road. The fire, which started at the rear, was rapidly gaining a bold when it was discovered The Fire Brigade were called, and managed to confine the blaze to the pantrv and kitchen, where considerable damage was done. The contents of the house were damaged by smoke. The house was covered by insurance, but the contents were uninsured.
