WEDDING.

Irving—Pocklington. The marriage was celebrated recently of Miss Daisy May Pocklington, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Pocklington, Leeston, to Mr Lionel Robert Irving, of Christchurch. The ceremony took place at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, and the officiating clergyman was the Rev J. C. Young, of Leeston. The service was fully choral, Mr Lake presiding at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father. Mr Janies Pocklington, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr Horace Ashley was groomsman. The bridesmaids were Miss Eileen Anstiss and Miss Mavis Osborne (cousin of the bride). The bride’s ensemble was of pale pink, the frock being composed of crepe de chine and georgette, the bodice having yoke and long sleeves of georgette, the skirt, which was beautifully embroidered with seed pearls in a design of true lovers’ knot, falling longer at the sides. She also wore a pearl girdle round the waist. Her veil, which was richly embroidered, fell almost to the ground, and was held in place with a circlet of orange blossom. Pink shoes and stockings and a beautiful bouquet of hot-house flowers and maidenhair fern, completed a dainty toilet. Miss Anstiss wore a frock of pale mauve crepe de chine, sleeveless, tight-fitting bodice with jiicot-edged triangular collar and long gathered skirt. She carried a bouquet of yellow daisies with mauve streamers. Miss Osborne wore a model frock of lemon corded silk, plain, tight-fitting, sleeveless bodice, the skirt falling gracefully longer at the back. Her bouquet w-as also of yellow daisies with yellow streamers. The guests were afterwards entertained at Mackworth Street, Woolston. Mrs. Pocklington, mother of the bride, received her guests, wearing a frock of wine-coloured crepe de chine, with hat to match, and a black fur coat. Mrs Irving, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart navy-blue costume with hat to tone. Later the bride changed into a frock of green satin, green velour coat and hat, and fawn shoes and stockings.
