SWIMMING.
CLUBS COMPETE FOR HARKER BROWN CUP.
. The Christchurch Swimming Club staged the first distance, 880yds, for the Harker Brown Cup on the Estuary at Redcliffs on Sunday morning-. The water was smooth and the competitors swam with the tide. The course was from the Sumner-Redcliffs Rowing Club’s jetty to Digby’s jetty. Messrs TV. E. D. Bishop and T. H. Harker were judges, Mr J. R. Buchanan starter and Mr R. D.. Harker Brown handicapper. The race resulted:— E. A. Jennings, sen. (75sec) 1 H. Harrison (lOOsec) 2 M. Crown <l6osec) 3 E. Robson (lOOsec) 4 M. Mitten (160 sec) 5 Also competed—M. Dent (45sec), R. D. Harker Brown (150 sec), T. S. Jennings. jun. (scr), A. J. Curtis (scr) and D. M'Lellan (20sec).
