At the inquest on Cecil George Rampton, who was drowned in Tokomaru Bay, a verdict that he was accidentally drowned was returned, with a rider commending the gallant actions of deceased's two, companions, Little and Burnett, especially that of the former who, risking his own life, swam out to Hampton's assistance.
