At the close of his sermon at John Knox Church yesterday morning, the Rev W. R. Hutchison made reference to the sudden death of the late Rev W. T. Todd. “ Since we last worshipped in this church,” he said, “ many of us learned with a sense of painful shock and sorrow of the sudden death of the Rev W. T. Todd. Mr Todd preached in this pulpit on the last two Sundays of his life, and his gracious messages from God’s Word will be remembered for a long time by those who were privileged to hear them. It is significant that his last sermon was on the triumphant joy of the Lord Jesus, and how he communicates that joy to the hearts of IJis own followers.” After briefly tracing Mr Todd’s devoted ministerial career, Mr Hutchison concluded by say that, as a congregation brought so recently into touch with the deceased, their united sympathy went forth to all who loved him and now mourn his loss, and especially to his widow, daughter and sons. The service was then concluded with the hymn, “ Now the Labourer’s Task is O’er.” ODDFELLOWS’ JUBILEE.
