PROFESSIONAL MUSIC TEACHERS CONFERRING

Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., January 21. The annual conference of the Society of Professional Teachers of Music opened here, Mr Robert Parker, C.M.G., presiding. Following a welcome by the Mayor to delegates, the president briefly reviewed the society’s activities, stating that not a great deal had been accomplished since the conference held in May. The work of the registration board was beginning to assume large proportions. There were five hundred applications already, and for the first few months that was very good indeed. It was going to mean a great deal to the status of professionals in future years.
