TENDERS LET FOR BIG ROADING PLAN.

RANGIORA COUNTY TO HAVE BITUMINOUS STRIP. (Special to the “Star.”) WELLINGTON, January 6. Tenders have been let by the Public Works Department on behalf of the Main Highways Board for bituminous concrete construction of nearly eight miles of road north of Christchurch, the* total expenditure approximating £40,000. One contract covers nearly four miles of the main road from Woodend to Saltwater Creek, the north boundary of Rangiora County, and the other section, of about the same length, is from Woodend to Rangiora Borough, which will join this town to the main road by a first-class surfaced road. The successful contractors are the British Pavements, Ltd.
