The takings at the Municipal Baths for the month of November, 1029 amounted to £169 3s 2d, a decrease of £26 as compared with the same month of last year. The takings for the period April 1 to November 30, 1929, amounted to £947 17s 7d, a decrease of £7O as compared with a similar period last year. The Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association has been granted the use of the Municipal Baths on the evening of Monday, January 20, for the purpose of conducting an inter-club carnival. As the proceeds from this carnival are to be devoted towards the cost of sending the Canterbury team to the New Zealand championships, the Baths Committee has decided to accede to the centre’s request for a reduction in rent by reducing the amount by half.
