SEASON OPENS FOR BIG GAME FISHING.

Per Press Association. THAMES, Dunedin 16. The big game fishing season has opened with a swing at Mercury Bay, there being a large run of both mako sharks and swordfish coming in. Yesterday Mr John Mead brought in two mako, weigh* 3501bs and 3301bs respectively, these being caught outside Mercury Island, where Mr Zane Grey was fishing last year. The present indications are for a tremendous run of fish.
