BASIS OF NEW CURE FOR TUBERCULOSIS.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Cumber 11. Kumarahou, a common plant on the ffumlands of Auckland province, known colloquially by gumdiggero as “poverty plant’’ and in scientific circles as pomaderris elliptica, is stated to be the basis of the Rev E. Ward’s new cure for tuberculosis. Gumdiggers use the leaves as soap. The Minister of Health has already secured a report on the plant from an agricultural chemist.
