EXPERT APPOINTED BY TOURIST FIRM.
The Mount Cook Tourist Company and Tongariro Tourist Company have appointed to the position of staff super intendent of hotels under their control Mr R. A. Brooks. He is secretary of the Canterbury Hotel and Restaurant Employees' Union, and has had a long experience of hotel work. It is stated that this is the first time a staff superintendent of hotels has been appoined in New Zealand., The two companies intend to get together an efficient staff to meet the demands of visitors and to remove all grounds for complaint. The companies at present control three hotels, but it is believed that they intend to establish a chain of hotels throughout New Zealand as opportxmity offers.
