MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

LYTTELTON. (Before Mr F. G. Sutton, J.P.) Samuel Peckham, a member of the crew of the Ruahine, was charged with behaving in a disorderly manner in London Street last night. Sergeant Dunlop stated that the accused accosted several young women. The accused said he was sorry for what had occurred, which was due to drink. It was the vessel’s first port of cail, and his first time in New Zealand. The Bench said that such conduct was not allowed m this country, and in the future the accused should keep away from drink. A fine of £2 was imposed, in default seven days’ imprisonment.
