Professor Gould’s geological party is now at the foot of the Queen Maud range, trying to find its way to the key points of geological interest. Gould sent back word to the base that he had tried to ascend Livs Glacier, but had been stopped by crevasses and precipices of ice, and that he intend : to head to the eastward to try to ascend the plateau by way of the Axext Heiberg Glacier.
