THRILLS AT .MONICA PARK ON SATURDAY.
Broadskiing put a new meaning into motor-cycling, and the thrill of it has set half the world agog with excitement. At Monica Park there is the finest dirt-track speedway in New Zealand. This is the luck of Christchurch residents. The intrepid Harry Mangham, the swiftest of the South Australian cracks, will be seen in action at Monica Hark on Saturday night, when he will concede big handicaps to the local riders, among whom are some coming champions. Mangham is undoubtedly the most dashing rider who has yet appeared on a New Zealand track, and the manner in which he laid his machine over ” last Saturday held a huge crowd amazed and thrilled. Most of them will be going back again this week. In the best local riders Mangham has formidable opponents. E. Marsh, J. Carter, F. Sharman. and the promising young rider, P. Lunn, will make attempts to lower the visitor’s colours. It should be a thrilling and exciting contest.
