BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED.

Miss E. E. Harvey was the guest of honour recently at a gift evening given by the scholars, teachers and residents of the Weedons district. The evening was spent happily in the schoolroom in games, competitions and music. Songs were sung by Mrs Sowden and Mrs I. Chambers. The secretary, on behalf of the scholars and teachers, presented Miss Harvey with a Bible in token of her faithful service as scholar and teacher. Miss Harvey suitably responded. Miss Harvey and Mr R. Chambers were also the recipients of many beautiful and useful articles from the guild members and residents of the district. Supper was served, and the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne ” brought the evening to a close.
