PUPILS’ RECITAL.

Miss Bessie Macdonald’s Rangiora School of Dancing held their annual dance recital in the Town Hall at Rangiora on Monday evening and were ably assisted by pupils from the Christchurch classes. The hall was crowded to its utmost capacity and the organiser, Mrs D. R. Hutchison, and Miss Macdonald have every reason to be proud of their work, and were ably assisted by Mr C. J. Smith, who was the stage manager. The work of the pupils throughout was excellent, the footwork and finish of the numbers showing that care had been taken with each individual dancer, thought being given to both artistic training and colouring. The accompaniste, Mrs W. O. S. Adam, was very helpful,'and it was largely due to her understanding and co-operation that the programme was so successful. During the evening the Mayor (Mr C. S. Ayers) spoke on behalf of the Plunket Society, to which society the proceeds were donated, thanked Miss Macdonald and the performers for the excellent entertainment. Mr Fred Hale assisted with vocal numbers, which were very popular with the audience. Bouquets were presented to the children and to Miss Bessie Macdonald and Mrs W. O. S. Adam.
