SILVER WEDDING,
At the invitation of Mr and Mrs A. E. Pankhurst a large number of relatives and friends spent an enjoyable time at their residence, Bishop’s Road, Papanui, on Saturday, to celebrate their silver wedding. The breakfast tables were profusely decorated with spring .flowers, and after the cutting of the two-tiered wedding cake by the bride, the usual toasts were honoured. The spacious drawing-room was. used as a dance room. Vocal and instrumental items were also given. ’Among the guests present were:—Mr and Mrs H. Pankhurst, Mr and Mrs H. Pankhurst, jun., Mesdames A. L. Owers, L. Harvey, Mr and Mrs Welsford, Mr and Mrs A. Alderdice, Mr and Mrs S. Wildeman, Mr and Mrs G. W. Dodds, Mr and Mrs H. Owers. Misses M. Osgood, Vi Sutherland, Ruby Blain, E. Alderdice, Joan Pankhurst, Messrs G. Webb, G. Webb, jun, Alf Pankhurst, Frank Pankhurst, Russell Pankhurst, William Alderdice, Stanley Alderdice, A. Long, Cyril Sutherland, S. Brown, M’Donald, Rountree and Gordon Owers.
