DAY OF ATONEMENT OBSERVED BY JEWS.

The services in connection with the Day of Atonement observance began in the Jewish Synagogue last evening, the service being known as the Kol Nidrei, from the traditional Hebrew Anthem. Mr Friedlander read the ritual. The services were continued today from 8 a.m. until 6 pan. and aJJ Tcwish business houses were closed for the day. A strict fast is observed by all members of the Jewish community during the Atonement Day services.
