ATTEMPT IS MADE TO ROB A TILL IN A SUBURBAN SHOP.
Whila one youth waited in a car outside, another went into the shop of Mr G. B. Wright, Radley, early on Thursday afternoon and attempted to rob the till. A patent catch on the till, however, prevented the would-be robber from opening it. The car was driven to the shop door ind one youth got out and asked Mrs Wright how to find a street, of which ;he had never heard before. At 3 o’clock, Mrs Wright was in the louse which joins the shop, when she heard someone rattling the till. She ran in through the door, and found a voung man, whom she recognised as the me who previously asked for street directions, trying to pull the till out. When Mrs Wright appeared the youth •an out of the shop, and jumped into ihe car in which the other young man was waiting. They drove off down Ashmore Street, on the corner of which, and Radley Street, the shop is situated.
