A concert will be held next Saturday, October 19, at 8 p.m. in the Choral Hall in aid of the funds of the annual picnic on Labour Day condupted by the Labour Day Celebrations Committee. An excellent programme has been arranged. A list of some of the artists is advertised. The prices of admission are Is 6d and Is.

A meeting of the St. Paul’s Young People’s Guild was held on Thursday, October 3, at Mr L. R. Corsbie’s house. The president reported matters were well in hand for the “Tree Party” to be held in Mr Corsbie’s garden on November 2. The final details were left in the hands of the committee to arrange and will appear later in these columns. The guild is fortunate in having secured the services of Mrs E. C. Lewey to act as judge for the “ Football Hat Trimming” competition which will form a novel and amusing feature of the afternoon.
