ARRANGEMENTS ARE FINALISED FOR THE WALTHAM SCHOOL FAIR.
A very enthusiastic meeting of the stallholders and the school committee was held in the Waltham School, on Thursday evening when final arrangements in connection with the School Fair, to be held on Saturday, October 19, were discussed. The grounds will be lighted by electricity and decorated with coloured lights and bunting. The Christchurch Municipal Brass Band will give a programme of popular music during the afternoon, and the W’oolston Brass Band will delight patrons during the evening session. Arrangements have been made for a popular dance during the evening and supper for those participating, will be provided in a large marquee on the grounds. Reports from all the sub-committees were of a very satisfactory nature and augured well for a very successful fair.
