COLOURFUL STORY OF THE MAGIC DESERT AT THEATRE ROYAL.

The pio drawn from the guerilla warfare of te Riffs and the French in Morocco, lers itself admirably to a colourful presentation. The music is of a -king and melodious character, while th love themes are ardent and impassi*ed. Mr Lance Fairfax, a New Zeal Ed-born artist, scores a marked succ«s in the leading role of the “Red ftdow." The ballet dancing is excell»t, refecting credit on Miss Minnie yerett. The scenery is a succession of fautiful effects, from thfe rugged mouniins of the opening to handsome inter»rs and the final fascinating courtyard, /•itta masses of red trailing flowers. The Desert Song” will be repeated this avening.
