WEDDING.
SHEARMAN—GEMMELL. St Andrew’s Church was recently the scene of an evening wedding, when Wilhemina (Minnie), youngest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs W. Gemmell, of Heathcote, was married to Walter William Shearman, of Horatane, Heathcote. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev J. Butler, and Mr Robert Lake presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful shell pink embossed georgette frock wdth a hat to tone. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white flowers. Miss Mabel Nystram, of Lyttelton, attended as bridesmaid, wearing an apple green georgette frock and a black hat. She carried a bouquet of pink flowers. Mr Alex Gemmell, brother of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony a reception and breakfast was held at the Cafe Cecil. Mrs Masefield (sister of the bride) received the guests in a black georgette frock relieved with white trimmings. Mr and Mrs W. Shearman left by motor on their wedding tour, the bride wearing a navy blue costume with a smart hat to match.
