BOY FOUND DEAD IN PADDOCK AT TAIHAPE.
Per Press Association. TAIHAPE, July 6. A boy named Norman Irwin, aged six years, was found dead in a paddock this morning. He was the son of Mrs Irwin, of Bennett’s Siding, whose husband, Patrick Irwin, was killed in a blasting accident recently. The boy was subject to epileptic fits. He fell on a sharp stick, which entered his left temple and severed an artery. A medical certificate has been given and no inquest will be necessary. A Palmerston North message says that Herbert Edward Williams, of Tokomaru, farmer, was charged in the Police Court with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. Williams was fined £2O and his license was cancelled for the remainder of the term.
