THREE PICTURES TO BE SHOWN AT GRAND.
There are three pictures to be screened at the Grand Theatre next week, as well as the usual programme of short subjects. including gazettes, cartoons, news reels and comedies. The Karl Dane, George K. Arthur comedy, “Detec—tives," heads the bill, followed by a. Hoot Gibson story, "The Lariat Kid." Then there will be presented the first chapter of the new chapter play to be screened at the Grand. "Tarzan the Mighty," from the thrilling and sensa tional story by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The first chapter is entitled "The Terror of Tarzan," and is set in the wild African jungle, a spectacular and immensely; exciting episode. Frank Marti] and Natallie Kingston have the leads in this picture. As for "Detectives,” it is another of the uproarious farces that Dane and Arthur do so well. In this story they are amateur detectives in a. fashionable hotel. A jewel robbery. a. haunted house, a. girl who disappears in the night and other sensational things are some of the incidents that go to make “Detectives" a. very funny afiair. Marcellus Day is the telephone girl over whom the sleugths quarrel instead} of attending to their work. This isl quite one of the most successful come-E dies this popular team has yet made. H_oot Gibson in “The Lariat Kid" provldes another out-door thriller in his best smile. This western cowboy stat; will always be popular. Box plans are at The Bristol Piano Company.
