A NOVEL SOUVENIR.

(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, June 14. Just before the Ulimaroa sailed for Sydney to-day a well-known Auckland Rugby player came down the gangway with a tea kettle measuring several feet across. It was an imitation one which had hung at the entrance to a suburban refreshment parlour recently visited by the Australian Varsities Rugby players. The proprietress was indignant on finding the kettle had gone with the students, and this morning the teahouse ’phone buzzed overtime, with the result that a member of the Auckland committee responsible for the Australians’ entertainment took hasty steps to the waterfront and succeeded in recovering the kettle.
