MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr E. C. Lewev, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A statutory first offender was fined the amount of his bail, £1 2s 3d, in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. VOLUNTARY APPEARANCES. William James Keen was fined 10s for riding a motor-cycle at night without a light, 10s for having no rear light, and lQs for having no light on his side-car. For cycling at night without a light John Davidson was fined 10s. Cecil Edward Barnes was fined 10s for cycling at night without a light, and 10s for cycling on the footpath. BY-LAW CHARGES.

Frank Clifford A’Court was fined 20s and costs for not having a headlight, and 10s and costs for not having a tail light. Dan Reese was fined £2 and costs for not having a headlight, and 20s and costs for not having a taillight.

Ronald Thomas Henderson was fined 20s and costs for not having a headlight on his motor-cycle, and 10s and costs for not having a license. John William Waldron was fined 10s and costs on each of three charges, of having no headlight on a motor-cycle, having no taillight, and having no license. NO TAILLIGHTS. Bert Dench was ordered to pay costs only. Frank Potter was fined 20s and costs for not having a light, and ordered to pay costs for not having a reflector. CYCLING ON THE FOOTPATH. John Bell was fined 10s and costs for cycling on the footpath, and ordered to pay costs for not having a bell. William Martonelli and Walter Watson were each fined 10s and costs. A BREACH OF THE ACT. For a breach of the Motor Vehicles Act, Adams, Ltd. (Mr Penlington) was fined 20s and costs. NO LICENSE. For driving without a license Arthur, Foster was fined £2 and costs. CAR ON FOOTPATH. Thelma Rene Kent was fined 20s and costs, and Leslie Thomas Woodward was fined 10s and costs for driving motor-cars on to the footpath. PASSED TRAMCAR. William Carrick Wedderspoon was fined £2 and costs for passing a standing tram. DISMISSED. A charge of negligent driving, preferred against Annie Ilowsen (Mr Twyneham) was dismissed. A charge against Reginald William Norman (Mr Penlington) was dismissed. A speeding charge against Hubert James N. Stevens (Mr Hill) was dismissed. NEGLIGENT DRIVING. Thomas Joseph Smith (Mr Burns) was fined 20s and costs for negligent driving. CUTTING A CORNER. Douglas Suckling (Mr Cavell) was fined 20s and costs for cutting a corner. NO REAR NUMBER.
