WELLINGTON TEAM TO PLAY CANTERBURY. Per Press Association. „ WELLINGTON, May 27. The Wellington Rugby team to play Canterbury on June 3 will be selected from the following:— Forwards—Shearer, Jessup, Sly, Wilson, Cave, Taylor, Potts, Fell, M’Pherson, Cullimore and Mollier. Backs—Julian, Johnson, Chaney, Peterson, Foley, Pelham, Huxtable, Wylie, Cuming and Cormack. The Wellington Rugby Union has accepted the Canterbury Union’s invitation to play a representative match in Christchurch on June 3. MALVERN SUB-UNION. The following is the result of Saturday’s matches in Malvern:— Seniors. Sheffield A 10, Darfield 9. Hororata 6, Springfield 3. Glentunnel 25, Sheffield B nil. Kirwee a bye. Under Seventeen. Glentunnel 40, Springfield nil. Darfield 21, Sheffield 6. The following is the position of the teams:—
The following are the senior games for next Saturday:Sheffield A v. Kirwee (Mr D. Johns). Springfield v. Sheffield B (Dr DickClentunnel v. Hororata (Mr R. E. Belgrave). Darfield a bye. Owing to the Kirwee under seventeen team withdrawing from the competition the following is the amended draw, games to be played on grounds of firstmentioned in each instance:— June I—Darfield v. Springfield (Rev T. Patterson); Sheffield (Annat) v. Glentunnel (Mr Hight). June B—Sheffield (Annat) v. Springfield; Glentunnel v. Darfield. June 15 and 22—No games, grounds not available.
