EPSOM NOTES. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, December 19. There was only one fast work-out at Epsom to-day, but there should be some interesting ■work when the visitors arrive to-morrow and Friday. Nelson M’Cormack was the only one sent at top speed. It was intended to send him a mile from a standing start, but he had two attempts and tangled badly each time. P. Rogers then took him some distance back from the peg, and when Nelson M’Cormack reached the peg he was at top, and ran rather a smart mile. But the work-out was spoilt by his refusal to go right from a stand.
