Pegler, in commenting on the activities of the school, said that the faithfulness of the staff had resulted in a. continuance of the high standard. The had secured fourteen passes in matriculation out of seventeen entrants. thirteen mihlic service entrances had been obtained, alao one senior and four junior national scholarships; eighty-nine niol free place* had been granted. There were also several prominent successes In the commercial department. In the athletic section the school had had a successful vear. He extended congratulations to the West Christchurch Did Boys’ Football Club in the winning of the senior B Rugby competition. Mr R. Nairn, a foundation scholar of the school, presented the prizes A short musical programme of musical Items was contributed by Misses Sybil Hall (piano solo,) Freda Judkins (song) and Masters Noel and Eric Swanston (piano and violin duet).
