ROWING CLUB HOLDS RACES AT REDCLIFFS.

The Sumner-Redeliff’s Rowing Club's fours were held last evening over a mile course. The first two heats were decided as follows: First heat —R. J. Reid (str.). C. Truscott, A. Rippon, R. C. Neville (bow) beat A. Sutherland (str.), J. Wilson, J. Wing, E. Woods (bow). Won by a length, after a fine race, in which the losing crew led most of the way. Second heat—C. Johnston (str.), L.. S. Woods, R. Dale, C. Wing (how) beat M. Hullltt (str.), C. Blunt, W. Kilner, E. Hullett (bow). Won easily by three lengths. The new members’ races will be rowed this evening, and the finals of the club fours will b 6 held on Thursday. From these races crews will be selected for the Christchurch Regatta. It is the intention of the selection committee not to send crews to the Akaroa Regatta this season, but to compete fit Wellington instead.
