(United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received December 17, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 17. A MESSAGE from Maitland states that a severe cyclonic storm caused serious damage. Many houses were unroofed by the force of the wind. One roof was lifted into the air and landed on top of a two-storey building. The hospital was unroofed and there was soon a foot of water in the rooms. Many business places were severely damaged. All traffic was brought to a standstill and public utilities- were interrupted.—Australian Press Association.
