YOUTH WHO BECAME “ STUPID WITH DRINK.” “ There was no criminal intent in this case,” said Sub-Inspector Fitzpatrick when a nineteen-year-old boy came befpre the Magistrate’s Court this morning, charged with being unlawfully on private property. Mr H. P. La wry, S.M., was on the Bench. “ This youth,” said the Sub-Inspec-tor, “is only nineteen years of age. He was at a dance on Saturday night, and intended staying the night with a friend. He got very drunk at the dance, and, stupified by the liquor, mistook a strange house for that of his friend. He was starting to undress when his presence was discovered by the family resident in the house. When the police arrived, he was still stupid with drink. He has a good job, and has never been in. any sort of trouble before.” “ I will not punish him this time,” said the Magistrate, “ he is convicted and discharged.” The Magistrate suppressed the accused's name.
