MUSICAL RECITAL.

The annual recital of the pupils of Mrs W. L. Cook, of Sumner, was held on Saturday, and from the point of view of both excellence of the playing and singing and of the attendance, proved eminently successful. A dainty afternoon tea was served, and at the conclusion of the programme a vote of thanks to Mrs Cook was proposed bv Mr Clyde Carr, M.P. Pianoforte solos were given bv Misses E. Crosby, D. Newburgh, M. Wells, J. Ambridge, Stewart, B. Falkiner, L. Hall, J. Gerrard, J. Steeds, J. Crosby, Neville, D. Wenmoth, F. M'Dougall, L. Mulholland, D. Pye. Barrett. Duets were given by Miss B. Carr and Mrs Black. Misses M. and E. Mulholland. Misses M. and P. Ambridge. Mesdames Wathew and Cook, and songs by Derek Hall, Misses L. Mali, Barrett.
