Mr J. R. Hayward has been elected as representative of the Lyttelton Harbour Board on the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, in place of the late Mr James Storry. Registrations at the Labour Bureau to-dav totalled eight married and three single men. Representing the Christchurch Tramway Board, Messrs J. Wood, J. A. ir lesher and Frank Thompson, conferred with the Riccarton Borough Council last evening regarding Riccarton | Road. The discussion centred round the permanent laying down of the road. The result was that a Commission is to be asked to apportion the costs of construction and maintenance between the i council and the other local bodies conI eerned.
