GREAT JAMBOREE TO BE HELD BY 30,000 BOY SCOUTS.

HUGE INTERNATIONAL RALLY IS PLANNED. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Tel egraph.—Copyright.) (Received December 5, 11.30 aan.) LONDON, December 4. Colonel Walton is organising an international jamboree at Arrow Park, Birkenhead, between July 31 and August 13, when 30.000 Scouts from forty-two nations will camp on 450 acres inucommemoration of the twentyfirst birthday of the Scout movement. General Gausett, Camp Chief, and General Baden-Powell, World Chief, will be under canvas. Interviewed, Colonel Walton said that the greatest objective was the fostering of world peace, with representatives of all creeds and colours fraternising. Other objectives were the extension of Empire trade and of scouting in the densely populated areas. There would be one day a monster rally of the biggest assemblage of youth in history. General Baden-Powell hopes that the nations will prepare individualistic displays and suggests that Australia should stage Captain Cook’s landing, or a corroboree. He anticipates that the Australians will charter a ship. Scouters here are emphasising Australia’s enthusiasm in sending Scouts costing £l2O each.—Australian Press Association.
