A message from Kondinin states that Patrick O’Brien, thirty-two, was shot dead in bed at Mon Repos Hostel. O’Brien’s partner in a motor engineering works was arrested on a charge of drunkenness, pending inquiries. A gun with one cartridge exploded was found in the pantry. Italians Fight.
An Italian named Vincenzo Upapolia was slashed in the face with a razor by a countryman, Arcangel Strano, who later gave himself up to the police.— Australian Press Association.
