MILL EMPLOYEE KILLED. •TK Jv FIT I, December 5. A middle-aged married man, •named Jack Sorensen, was killed miles from I’usk's mill at Kopalci this morning. It appears that Sorensen, a mill employee, was working some distance from his mates, and was engaged in breaking out a heavy log, which fell on deceased. inflicting fatal injuries to his head. Nobody witnessed the accident, but the man’s mates came up immediately the log rolled, and found that Sorensen had met instantaneous death. The body will be brought to Te Kuiti to-day, where an inquest will be held. t Deceased belonged to Auckland. KING'S HEALTH. LONDON, December 4. An authorative medical viewpoint of/ the King’s condition to-night is that llis Majesty is lighting a sway ing battle. The rise in his temperaday, was one of the fluctuations that was to he expected.
