ZANE GREY SEEKS DEEP-SEA FISH.
BY SIN BAD. While there’s a lull in politics, As Gordon contemplates his fix, It seems a chance for me to say A word or two about Zane Grey. He seems' to look, about this time, Towards our sunny southern clime, Where it is his undying wish To grapple with our deep-sea fish. The swordfish and the mako sharks Already bear this author’s marks, And no doubt look with high delight Towards another stirring fight. When seas are warm and days grow long, I fancy broadbills sing this song: “ Hurrah, we soon will have again “ A visit from our old friend Zane. “ Let’s see what fate has for him stored—- “ Let’s try to pull him overboard, “ Or, if we don’t succeed in that, “ Let’s break the line and leave him flat. “ And even should we lose the fight, “ We have no fears ’twill be all right, “ For when he’s got us on his hook, “ He’s bound to put us in a book.”
