SIR JOSEPH WARD CHEERED AT CITY RAILWAY STATION

“ THANK YOU VERY MUCH,” HE REPLIES TO CROWD. The railway station rang with cheers when Sir Joseph left Christchurch last evening for the ferry steamer. While he was standing on the platform, oid friends came up, gave him a handshake, congratulated him, and wished him good luck. Members of his family and his grandchildren were amongst those who saw him off. As the train moved out, he stood near the door of his carriage, raised his hat, waved his hand, and said: “ Thank you very much.”
